Zhang Guanghui is a Sichuan-born student, who is currently furthering his graduate studies at the Nanyang Technological University (NTU) in Singapore. In mid-June, he was – unfortunately – diagnosed with osteocarcinoma (bone cancer), and had to undergo amputation at the National University Hospital (NUH) to control the spread of the cancer cells. Even though his initial operations costs were covered by insurance, the medical fees for a 30-week chemotherapy programme – which can go up to S$200,000 – will not be. Inspiringly, his friends from Singapore and China have banded together to render him assistance, and to help him tide over this challenging phase. At the present moment, Guanghui still needs to raise another S$40,000 approximately.
